THIS IS ALL A RUMOR
So I stumbled upon some rumors about Apple, involving the iPod nano and iTunes. Supposedly iTunes 8 will be coming out with some new features such as give recommendations based on your music library, which doesn't seem that exciting. The exciting thing is the new iPod and how Apple is going to change the pricing of the iPods to separate themselves from the iPhone (massive price drops FTW) the iPhone will also be using the new 2.1 touch software.
The new nano coming will support wide screen and work similarly to the zune I suppose, now I know your saying "pics or didn't happen" well...here it is
*note that it is rounded like the new air books and iPhones, once again we are going to look like morons with the old new nano and ipods ;] The announcement is supposedly coming September 9th this is all from Kevin Rose's Blog "KevinRose.com"

I've never really been a fan of apple (no offense). I see where they're coming from (stylized and pricey things to show off) and i know there's always going to be a market for that, but i still believe that there will always be superior audio players and cell phones.
